Goodwill Announces Michelle R. Horton as New Vice President of Talent Development

Goodwill® Industries of the Southern Piedmont is pleased to welcome Michelle R. Horton as Vice President of Talent Development.

In this role, Horton will plan, implement and direct all of the Talent Development Team’s impactful activities for Goodwill participants and team members. The Talent Development Team is comprised of Goodwill University, Construction & Trade Training, Career Navigation, and Learning and Organizational Development.

Through its 31+ retail stores, the Goodwill Opportunity Campus, and partnerships with employers and other organizations, Goodwill builds pathways for members of the community to uncover their passions, enhance their skill sets, and achieve more for themselves and their families—creating a brighter future for all. Horton’s leadership will help to ensure the nonprofit’s existing programs and new services are in line with the impact the organization intends to make as it envisions a greater Charlotte community where equitable access to career opportunities is available for all.

Horton served in several leadership roles in her 10-year tenure at Wake Forest University’s School of Business; most recently, as the Executive Director of Career Education & Coaching. In this capacity, Michelle developed hands-on career educational programs and managed coaching support to ensure students were career and life ready.

Welcome to the Goodwill family, Michelle R. Horton!
