Goodwill’s tuition-free Data Analytics training program will equip job seekers with the knowledge, skills and hands-on experience necessary to obtain or advance their career in the analytics field. In this program, participants will learn how to inspect, clean, transform and model data to report on important business decisions using tools like Excel, Power BI, Python and SQL. You will also work with Goodwill University, Career Navigation and the Employer Engagement team on career development and job placement assistance. Those who successfully complete Goodwill’s Data Analytics training program are expected to pursue an analytics position immediately following the end of the program.

Program Timeframe

Goodwill’s Data Analytics training program lasts 14 weeks (about three months). This is a hybrid (virtual and in-person) program. You must attend all program dates as scheduled.

Mondays & Thursdays In person at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.
Tuesdays & Wednesdays Virtual 6:30 – 9 p.m.
2 Saturdays (Weeks 7 & 8) In person at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus 8:30 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Prerequisite

To apply to Goodwill’s Data Analytics training program, you must have all of the following:

  • One year of Information Technology work experience or related work experience
  • Must be interested in obtaining a job in the analytics field after successful completion of the program
  • Advanced-level education in any discipline/field (examples include a college degree, certification, etc.)
  • Strong people skills, such as effective communication skills, flexibility and adaptability
  • Advanced-level knowledge and application of Microsoft Excel
  • Critical thinking/analytical reasoning skills

*Skills will be validated by an assessment. All candidates must go through an interview and selection process to be considered. You are not selected until you receive an email stating so.

Requirements for Completion

To successfully complete Goodwill’s Data Analytics training program, you must:

  • Have no more than three (3) absences
  • Complete all program assignments, projects and activities
  • Successfully present your final project (Capstone Project)
  • Complete all Goodwill University, Career Navigation and Employer Engagement assignments, projects and activities

Wraparound Services

When you take one of our training programs, you get the added benefit of working with several of our teams to make sure you are fully prepared to take the next step and land a job! These teams are:

  • Goodwill University team: offers the training program, and monitors course grades, attendance and other supporting activities.
  • Career Navigation team: each participant will be assigned a career navigator who provides ongoing career coaching and employability skills training such as help developing your resume, crafting an elevator pitch, preparing for a job interview and more.
  • Employer Engagement team: provides mock interview and employment assistance to all program participants by partnering with employers to facilitate employer-led training, job site tours, hiring events and direct job placements.
