Return Policy

We want you to shop with confidence. Please review our full return policy below, as return eligibility and procedures may vary by store location.

Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont offers store credit on certain items that are returned within 30 days of purchase. All returns require the original item(s), original receipt(s), original tag(s) attached, and a Goodwill account including name and phone number for return tracking and verification. We do not offer cash refunds.

  • Clothing
  • Shoes
  • Electronics
  • All items purchased from our tech store, The GRID

THESE ITEMS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE TO RETURN FOR STORE CREDIT:

  • Furniture
  • Toys
  • Books
  • Housewares
  • New goods

Eligible items purchased from a GISP traditional store (all stores except GW: A Goodwill Boutique, The GRID: Powered by Goodwill, Rewind: A Goodwill Record & Media Store, and Second Editions: A Goodwill Outlet) can no longer be returned at any GISP traditional store; please see updates below. Items purchased from GW and The GRID must be returned at the store from which they were purchased. We do not offer returns at our media store, Rewind, or our outlet stores, Second Editions.

RETURN POLICY UPDATE

  • As we phase in our new tagging system, barcode price tags will be introduced on new merchandise entering the sales floor. During this transition period, shoppers may see a combination of tagged and non-tagged items in our stores. 
  • Through October 2026, clothing items purchased with a barcode tag can only be returned at traditional Goodwill stores that have begun using the new tagging system. As of 10/29, returns of these items are accepted only at the traditional stores listed below:
  • Starting November 1, 2026, all clothing returns must have the original Goodwill tag attached, be accompanied by the original receipt, and be made only at a traditional Goodwill store participating in the new tagging system. Please refer to the list above, which will be updated as additional stores transition. Clothing items purchased without a tag attached will be considered final sale.

Please note that these updates apply only to Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont’s traditional retail stores. Specialty stores, including GW: A Goodwill Boutique, The GRID: Powered by Goodwill, Rewind: A Goodwill Record & Media Store, and Second Editions: A Goodwill Outlet, maintain their own return policies.
