Electrical Training

Goodwill’s free Electrical training course is designed to prepare an entry-level candidate for the Electrical industry, without going through an entire degree program. This 11-week class is broken down into topics including: orientation to the electrical trade, electrical safety, introduction to electrical circuits, electrical theory, introduction to National Electrical Code, device boxes, hand bending, raceways and fittings, conductors and cables, basic electrical construction drawings, residential electrical services and electrical test equipment. This course is taught by National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certified instructors.

Course Timeframe
Goodwill’s Electrical training course lasts 11 weeks. We offer this course in the evenings to accommodate students who may work during the day.
Requirements for Completion
To successfully complete Goodwill’s Electrical training course, you must:
- Have at least an 85% attendance rate
- Achieve a passing score (70%) on all module tests
- Pass the Performance Profile tests for each module
Certification Opportunities
If you successfully complete Goodwill’s free Electrical training course, you will receive the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) certification for Electrical Level 1.
Prerequisite
In order to enroll in Goodwill’s Electrical training course, you must first successfully complete Goodwill’s Construction Basics training course and obtain the NCCER CORE Certification.
