Goodwill Youth Student Surprised with Broadcasting “Good Deed”

We’ve been partnering with WCNC-TV (NBC Charlotte) for another year of surprise “good deeds” for several of our deserving clients at Goodwill.

Our second story features KeShawn, a student in our Career Leadership Academy for Youth (CLAY) program and senior at Harding University High School in Charlotte. KeShawn has a passion for broadcasting and video production – he’s even had an internship at the local school district television station – so we were thrilled to surprise him with a behind-the-scenes job shadow at WCNC-TV in Charlotte.

Watch the video here of KeShawn’s surprise and job shadow with Colleen Odegaard, co-host of WCNC-TV’s show Charlotte Today. We can’t wait to see KeShawn achieve his goal of one day hosting his own pop culture TV show!

And be sure to check out the first “good deed” on our blog here, when a student in our CLAY program was surprised with a laptop and printer from our electronics store, The GRID: Powered by Goodwill, as he prepares to head to college this fall.
