As we enter a new year in 2016, it’s important to take a moment to thank those who helped us have a successful year in 2015. Thanks to your support of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, we were able to provide job training and employment services to 12,000 individuals and place 1,600 job seekers in local jobs in 2015.
Proceeds from the sale of donations in our Goodwill retail stores fund these programs and services for individuals in our community with barriers to employment, including lack of skills, experience or education and criminal backgrounds. These services are provided free of charge to job seekers thanks to the generosity of our shoppers, material donors and financial donors.
Whether it’s a Goodwill University job training program in the in-demand industries of banking & customer service, hospitality & tourism, or construction skills – such as the one that helped Jason secure full-time employment – or the Career Leadership Academy for Youth that helped Shontel find her stride despite the odds – or the mock interview clinics that gave Jordon confidence to apply for jobs – your support helps make these programs, and in turn these success stories, possible each year.
As we look to 2016 and the grand opening of the Goodwill Opportunity Campus mid-year, we are humbled by your support each year to help our neighbors on their journey to family sustaining employment. Thank you for helping us change lives through the power of work.
