Are you rushing to file your taxes before the deadline on Tuesday, April 18?
If your household income in 2016 was $54,000 or less, you may qualify to have your taxes prepared and submitted for free with our partner Community Link as part of the annual Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. There are 10 days remaining before the program ends on Thursday, April 13.
The Goodwill Opportunity Campus serves as a VITA site on select days from Wednesday, January 25 – Thursday, April 13. The site is open on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. by appointment only. With the average tax return preparation costing upwards of $200, the VITA program allows individuals to save their hard-earned money and instead put it toward necessities such as food, rent, bills and transportation.
To schedule an appointment, please visit www.clvita.org or call (704) 761-8482. Visit this page on our website here to view a list of necessary items to bring with you.
