Last Friday, we celebrated with 49 new graduates of our Occupational Skills Training program as they received their certifications in banking, hospitality and construction.
Carolyn Mints, president of Mints Words, offered repeated encouragement to the graduates, and pushed them to continue fighting through challenges that may come: “You have to stand up, and keep it moving!”
Representing his fellow classmates in the Banking & Customer Service Training program, speaker Antoine Harris offered words of advice to the room full of volunteers, partners, family members and community supporters:
Don’t isolate yourself. Be active, volunteer, reach out to expand your network while you continue your job search or schooling. The more people who know you and what you are capable of, the more likely you are to not only find a job, but the job you want.
Each year, purchases made at our area retail locations fund job training and employment programs like this one. Thank you for your support!
