As frequent thrifters, I think we all have certain things that we regularly look for when we’re shopping at Goodwill. A lot of people shop for clothing, some for costume and craft supplies, others for toys and outfits that their kids will quickly outgrow.
For me, it’s vintage dishes. No matter what else I might be looking for, I always scan the shelves hoping for a pop of that retro avocado green or some 1960s florals.
From Pyrex to Tupperware, milk glass to melamine, there’s just something about those old designs that makes my heart flutter. Morning muffins are all the more special when mixed up in a sunshine yellow porcelain bowl. A cup of coffee tastes better out of a pretty little mug. And my grandmother’s graham cracker pie couldn’t be any more perfect served out of a vintage pie dish.
Here are some of my favorite Goodwill finds for the kitchen. I hope you’ll decide to pepper some newly discovered vintage pieces into your own kitchen collection.
