On behalf of Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont, I want to thank our community, donors and team members for their desire to support community members affected by Hurricane Harvey. We continue to stay in contact with Goodwills affected by Harvey in Texas and Louisiana to understand how we, as an organization and as a community, can best support their recovery efforts. The biggest need at this time is for donor dollars to provide shelter, food, comfort and emergency support for individuals and families affected by Harvey. We are also very cognizant of Hurricane Irma and while we hope the impact is minimal, we expect that support will be needed to areas that may be affected, including the Southeast.
Today we are launching our round up campaign to support the American Red Cross to assist with hurricane disaster and relief efforts. Through the month of September, when you make a purchase at any of our 24 store locations, you will be given the opportunity to round your purchase total up to the nearest dollar. The money raised through this campaign will be donated to the American Red Cross specifically for relief efforts to those affected by Hurricane Harvey and, if needed, Hurricane Irma. We are honored to support the massive relief efforts that are being led by organizations, like the American Red Cross, who are experts in meeting immediate needs and managing resources in times of disaster.
Our gratitude once again for your deep concern and support.
