Goodwill® President & CEO, Chris Jackson, Recognized as One of Charlotte’s “Power 100” in DEI by Charlotte Business Journal

For the second year in a row, Goodwill is proud to announce that Chris Jackson, president and CEO, has been selected as one of the Charlotte Business Journal’s Power 100. Each year, the editorial team at CBJ selects 100 individuals making a significant difference in a specific area of importance for our city – in 2022, Chris was recognized as a power player in driving the Charlotte region’s next stage of growth, specifically job creation. This year, we are pleased to share that Chris has been recognized by CBJ as one of the power players building a more diverse, equitable and inclusive Charlotte.

The Charlotte Business Journal defines this year’s Power 100 as DEI leaders in their communities and within their companies or organizations. They explained, “Honorees were selected from across the region’s institutions of all sizes: top corporate and business executives, DEI program drivers, nonprofit, civic and political leaders — and individuals who are blazing new paths.”

Diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging are important values to Chris personally, as well as to the Charlotte-area Goodwill organization. In fact, our organization’s vision is for a community in which equitable access to career opportunities is available to all.

In his feature, Chris shared, “I am extremely humbled to lead this organization, especially because of the opportunity and ability we have to help positively transform communities. At the end of the day, Goodwill is about helping people on their journey toward prosperity. I experienced many of the same obstacles faced by the people we support, and that’s why it’s my privilege, and I believe, my responsibility, to be a champion for creating pathways for people in this community to tap into the opportunities that exist here, and for employers and companies to uncover qualified local talent who are eager to advance their careers and achieve more for themselves and their families. No one organization can achieve this alone, so I see our role at Goodwill as a convener and visionary for the collective work that can be done to open doors for people to truly achieve economic dignity and create generational prosperity.”

We congratulate and celebrate Chris and this recognition in addition to previous honors for his commitment to DEI&B as the “Goodwill Diversity and Inclusion Champion” from Goodwill Industries International and a “Most Admired CEO” from Charlotte Business Journal in 2021.
