This year, for the second year in a row, we’re teaming up with Goodwill organizations across the country and Family Circle, one of the most widely-read magazines in the world, for a back-to-school clothing drive. Last year the magazine helped Goodwill collect nearly 11 million pounds of clothing, helping parents teach their kids that donating can make a real difference in someone’s life, while at the same time giving donated items a second life, keeping them out of landfills and helping to preserve the environment. In other words: it was a huge success!
This year, you can join in on the fun: bringing your donations of gently-used clothing to any of our 30-plus donation sites (including any of our 20 retail stores), any time during August and September. If you’re feeling especially inspired by our mission, changing lives through the power of work, feel free to schedule a donation drive at your local school, business or neighborhood. (And if you’re looking for inspiration, check out our success stories–we post one each week!)
Look for details in the September issue of Family Circle, which is dedicated to back-to-school. But just so you know, we won’t turn you away if you show up with donations on October 1–we’ll accept your (fantastic) donations absolutely any time of the year.
