Goodwill is eliminating plastic shopping bags starting November 1

Every purchase made at Goodwill does good – for your budget, the community and our planet! New-to-you items reduce waste while funding job training and career services for people in our area. Now, we’re doing even more to reduce waste in our community! Starting November 1, Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont is going bagless and eliminating plastic shopping bags in our 26 area stores. 

Did you know Americans throw away 100 billion plastic bags each year? That’s about 307 bags per person! All that waste can be eliminated by switching to reusable shopping bags. Help us help the environment by bringing your own bag – or purchasing a reusable Goodwill bag for 99¢.
