Electrical Training

The construction industry is booming in the greater Charlotte area, and with that comes a strong need for skilled electricians. In Goodwill’s tuition-free Electrical training program, you’ll learn about electrical safety, electrical circuits, electrical theory, the National Electric Code, and electrical equipment.

About the Training

In just several months, Goodwill’s Electrical training program will equip you with the knowledge, skills and certifications you need to begin your career in the electrical industry, without going through an entire degree program. Classes take place three nights a week, giving you the flexibility you need to complete your education.

: Goodwill’s Electrical training program lasts 13 weeks. Class meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 – 9:30 p.m. This is an in-person program, and you must attend all program dates as scheduled.
: This program takes place in person at the Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center, our state-of-the-art training facility located in west Charlotte.
: If you successfully complete Goodwill’s free Electrical training program, you will receive the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) certification for Electrical Level 1.
: To successfully complete Goodwill’s Electrical training program, you must:

Have at least an 85% attendance rate

Achieve a passing score (70%) on all module tests

Pass the Performance Profile tests for each module
: To enroll in Goodwill’s Electrical training program, you must first successfully complete Goodwill’s Construction Basics training program and obtain the NCCER CORE Certification.
