HVAC Training

With homes and businesses being built and renovated in the greater Charlotte area every day, a career in HVAC is sure to be reliable and promising. In Goodwill’s tuition-free HVAC training program, you’ll learn how to safely install, maintain and troubleshoot HVACR systems, and you’ll develop a basic understanding of sheet metal, welding and pipefitting.

About the Training

In just a few months, Goodwill’s HVAC training program will equip you with the knowledge, skills and certifications you need to launch a successful career as a skilled heating, air conditioning and refrigeration mechanic and installer, without going through an entire degree program. Classes take place three nights a week, giving you the flexibility you need to complete your education.

: Goodwill’s HVAC training program lasts 13 weeks. Class meets on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 6 – 9:30 p.m. This is an in-person program, and you must attend all program dates as scheduled.
: This program takes place in person at the Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center, our state-of-the-art training facility located in west Charlotte.
: If you successfully complete Goodwill’s free Commercial HVAC training program, you will receive the NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) certification for HVAC Level 1 and the EPA 608 certification.
: To successfully complete Goodwill’s HVAC training program, you must:

Have at least an 85% attendance rate

Achieve a passing score (70%) on all module tests

Pass the Performance Profile tests for each module
: In order to enroll in Goodwill’s HVAC training program, you must first successfully complete Goodwill’s Construction Basics training program and obtain the NCCER CORE Certification.
