Information Technology (IT)

Whether you want to learn how to analyze and use data to inform important business decisions or how to troubleshoot and solve common IT issues, there’s no better way to invest in yourself than by learning valuable technological skills with our tuition-free Information Technology training programs.

Construction & Trade Skills

There’s a labor shortage in the construction and trade industry, and employers are constantly looking for talented candidates to fill their open positions. Goodwill’s free Construction & Trade Skills training programs offered at the state-of-the-art Goodwill Construction Skills Training Center will help prepare you for a career in a booming industry.

BankWork$

The Charlotte region is home to more than 91,000 financial services jobs, and it is the second-largest banking center in the nation. Uncover your path to a promising career in this growing industry through BankWork$. Goodwill University is excited to offer a tuition-free, eight-week training program that will give you the skills, access and coaching you need to succeed and grow in banking careers.

Financial Basics

Goodwill and Common Wealth Charlotte have partnered together to offer a free Financial Basics class to the community. If you have questions about budgeting, setting financial goals, credit, and investing, this may be the class for you!

We understand that Goodwill’s training programs may not cover everything you want to learn. With these other resources, you can learn new skills, earn your GED, or get the support you need on your pathway to prosperity.

How to Apply

The process for team members enrolling in our training programs is different than the general public. If you’re interested in taking one of our training programs, please follow these steps:

  • Meet with your supervisor to get approval to take a training program
  • Once you have approval, your supervisor must send the following information to TeamMemberTraining@goodwillsp.org:
    • Team member’s first and last name
    • Team member’s job title and location
    • Team member’s work and personal email address
    • Team member’s work and personal phone number
    • Which program the team member wants to take
    • Supervisors must state that they approve the team member taking the training program
