Jose Luis

Jose Luis joined Goodwill Industries of the Southern Piedmont in 2021 and serves as Chief Operating Officer, where he leads the strategic direction and operational oversight of the organization’s business enterprises. His responsibilities span Donated Goods Retail (DGR)—including retail stores, e-commerce, transportation, salvage, and donation centers—as well as real estate development, facility operations, technology, risk management, and health and safety.

Jose currently serves on the NCRMA board and as a Councilmember for Lancaster County, SC government, demonstrating his commitment to civic engagement and community service. He isn’t just focused on organizational leadership—he’s deeply invested in serving his community, as well.

Growing up in Miami, Florida, as the son of Cuban immigrants, he embraced his rich cultural heritage. In 2006, he moved to the Charlotte area, where he has made a significant impact. Jose earned a BA from Florida State University and a JD from the University of Miami School of Law. Outside his impressive career, Jose enjoys music, mud runs, and fruit and vegetable gardening. His diverse interests reflect his dedication both at work and in his personal life.
