The Charlotte region is home to more than 91,000 financial services jobs, and it is the second-largest banking center in the nation. Uncover your path to a promising career in this growing industry through BankWork$. Goodwill University is excited to offer a tuition-free, eight-week training program that will give you the skills, access and coaching you need to succeed and grow in banking careers—from understanding the financial services workplace to bank regulations, bank products, cash handling and processing customer transactions.

Graduates of this banking training program are prepared for roles such as: Associate Banker, Branch Banker, Client Services Representative, Lead Teller, Member Service Consultant, Personal Banker, Relationship Banker, Teller and Call Center Representative. Those who successfully complete this training program are expected to pursue a banking position immediately following the end of the program.

Timeframe & Details

The BankWork$ training program lasts eight weeks. This is a hybrid (virtual and in-person at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus) training program. Class meets Monday – Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Professional business attire is required during all at-home and in-person classes and events. You must attend all program dates as scheduled.

Prerequisites

In order to apply to the BankWork$ banking training program, you must pass a reading and math comprehension assessment and go through an Interview & Selection process. Applicants must be 18 years of age or older, have a high school degree/GED and be able to pass a background check. Please note that the orientation is mandatory.

Required Technology

  • Wi-Fi for internet access
  • A computer or laptop for home use (a cell phone is not sufficient to access course materials)

    Wraparound Services

    When you take one of our training programs, you get the added benefit of working with several of our teams to make sure you are fully prepared to take the next step and land a job! These teams are:

    • Goodwill University team: offers the training program, and monitors course grades, attendance and other supporting activities.
    • Career Navigation team: each participant will be assigned a career navigator who provides ongoing career coaching and employability skills training such as help developing your resume, crafting an elevator pitch, preparing for a job interview and more.
    • Employer Engagement team: provides mock interview and employment assistance to all program participants by partnering with employers to facilitate employer-led training, job site tours, hiring events and direct job placements.
