Our Partnerships
At Goodwill, we believe a holistic approach is critical as people look to make a change in their lives. You can’t find stability in your career without stability in your finances, health and home life. Each of our partners is carefully selected to help participants address their unique needs. These partners play a critical role in supporting our community as a whole, in addition to the participants Goodwill serves, as they seek opportunities to prosper and thrive.
Goodwill Opportunity Campus Partners
Charlotte Community Health Clinic
Charlotte Community Health Clinic improves the health of the community by providing quality, accessible, affordable health services to adults and children. Founded in 2000 by a group of committed volunteers, the Clinic offers primary care, specialty care, behavioral health services, and health and wellness education services. With the support of community partners, healthcare providers, donors and volunteers, the Clinic bridges the gap to health and wellness for those without other means of medical care and dental care.
The Center for Community Transitions
The Center for Community Transitions is a nonprofit organization strengthening the community by helping individuals with criminal records find a healthier and more productive way of living. Founded in 1974, The Center for Community Transitions has three programs (LifeWorks!, the Center for Women, and Behavioral Health) that provide employment and transition services, support alternatives to incarceration, and restore and strengthen family bonds.
Common Wealth Charlotte
Common Wealth Charlotte (CWC) provides financial empowerment to Charlotte’s economically-vulnerable workforce through trauma-informed financial education and certified one-to-one counseling, coupled with access to specially designed financial products. CWC’s unique model includes free checking and savings accounts with its partner credit union, as well as 0% interest loans as an alternative to predatory lenders and charitable assistance. Building financial capability is a vital first step to address the financial instability clients frequently experience. CWC’s dignified approach results in long-lasting change and creates true upward economic mobility.
Skyla Credit Union
The mission of Skyla Credit Union is simple – helping make your possibilities a reality. The Skyla location at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus is a Financial Wellness Center – not a full-service branch – and is designed to provide essential support to members experiencing a variety of financial challenges by offering financial counseling around budgeting, saving, credit and debt management. There is an ATM on site that is accessible during the campus’ operating hours.
National Insistute of Minority Economic Development
The National Institute of Minority Economic Development works to expand and diversify the state’s economic base by providing direct support to minority and women-owned businesses. Their mission is to strengthen the asset base of diverse populations through policy, education and economic opportunities. The institute has helped more than 10,000 minority businesses obtain over $1 billion in financial contracts and awards and secure more than $140 million in bonding.
Good Food
Good Food by Food Geeks is a locally owned, family-run restaurant offering “comfort food the Brooklyn way,” inspired by owner Terrance Burns’ upbringing in New York City. They offer grab-and-go meals, quick snacks and treats, a coffee bar and hot buffet lunch specials in addition to their regular menu. Additionally, they provide catering services for the events that take place at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus. Goodwill is proud to have this well-established black-owned business operate out of our restaurant space.
