If you have questions about budgeting, setting financial goals, credit, and investing, this may be the class for you! Financial Basics is offered over the course of three days, and class meets one hour per day.
Day 1: Financial Empowerment
This is CWC’s signature and foundational workshop! In this power-packed session, you will learn how habits and behaviors impact financial success. You will also learn how your pay cycle determines how you should prioritize your monthly bills, the importance of creating and maintaining a conscious spending plan, the importance of saving, methods to build an emergency fund and save for future goals, the basics of credit and credit scores, and how to manage debt responsibly and avoid predatory credit products.
Day 2: Financial Goal Setting – Smart Strategies for Managing Debt
Are you feeling overwhelmed by credit cards, loan, and collections? This practical and empowering session is designed to help you take control of your debt. You will walk through the fundamentals of debt, including understanding your credit report, prioritizing payments, dealing with collectors, and exploring repayment options for a debt-reductions plan that works for you. Whether you’re just starting or restarting your journey, this workshop offers tools, resources, and support to help you move toward a debt-free future with confidence and clarity.
Day 3: Tax Season
In this session, you’ll gain a clear understanding of how taxes work, including what documents to gather, how to file, and how to maximize your refund or minimize what you owe. You’ll also learn how tax planning can support your broader financial goals and reduce stress during tax season.
