About the Training

Goodwill’s Networking Essentials training program will equip you with the fundamentals of networking in just 12 weeks!

: Goodwill’s Networking Essentials training program is a fully virtual program lasting 12 weeks.

Tuesdays: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. (Self-directed lab)

Thursdays: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. (Instructor-led; virtual)
: This program teaches the fundamentals of networking, covering the foundation of networking and network devices, how to use different network applications and protocols to accomplish networking tasks, how to provide Internet Protocol (IP) addresses to devices both manually and automatically and understand how IP addresses are calculated and assigned, how the physical, data link, and network layers work together to provide end-to-end connectivity, how to provide basic network diagnostics and troubleshooting including endpoints, networks, for both local and remote scenarios, will teach foundations of security and about network and computer threats and attacks including application, cyber, wireless, and mobile device attacks, and how to perform basic secure wireless configuration.

: The Networking Essentials training program offers the opportunity to earn the Cisco Certified Support Technician (CCST) Networking certification.
: To apply to Goodwill’s Networking Essentials training program, you must:

live within our service area

be 18 or older

have a high school diploma/equivalent or higher

have a passion for technology

be dedicated to job placement immediately upon graduation

have basic computer knowledge

An assessment will validate skills, and all candidates must complete an interview and selection process for consideration. You’ll only be officially selected upon receiving a confirmation email from Goodwill University.
