Goodwill’s free HVAC training course covers the fundamentals of environmental control systems used in the HVAC industry and is designed to produce an entry-level candidate for the HVAC and Electrical industry. This nine-week commercial HVAC training class includes a basic overview of residential electrical safety and HVAC systems. Additional topics include usage of installation tools and techniques, meters and gauges, brazing and soldering, heating technologies, an intro to building automation systems, National Electrical Code essentials, understanding symbols and basic schematics, planning and layout, as well as installation of electrical distribution equipment. This course is taught by National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certified instructors and is offered in partnership with Central Piedmont Community College.

Goodwill’s HVAC training course lasts nine weeks. We offer this course in the evenings to accommodate students who may work during the day.
If you successfully complete Goodwill’s free HVAC training course, you will receive an EPA 608 certification and certificate of completion from Central Piedmont Community College.
In order to enroll in Goodwill’s HVAC training course, you must first successfully complete Goodwill’s Construction Basics training course.
