Goodwill’s free Construction Basics training course helps participants quickly develop the knowledge and skills they need to gain employment in the construction industry. In this eight-week introductory class, you will learn safety precautions and awareness, basic math used on a job site, and you will be able to identify power tools and describe their uses. This course is taught by National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certified instructors from Central Piedmont Community College who will help you build a foundation of knowledge and earn industry-recognized credentials to kick start your career.

Goodwill’s Construction Basics training course lasts eight weeks. We offer this course in the evenings to accommodate students who may work during the day.
If you successfully complete Goodwill’s free Construction Basics training course, you will receive a NCCER (National Center for Construction Education and Research) certification and the OSHA 10: Occupational Safety and Health Administration certification.
