Cheryl’s Advice: Awesome piece, Theresa! I will admit I’m not a big painted furniture fan, so if you’re into refinishing (or know a good refinisher), I think it would be beautiful restore to its original grandeur. You could certainly find vintage replacement pulls in the style of the 1930’s piece.

If that’s not your cup of tea, painting it out in a lacquer (high-gloss) or chalk finish would certainly update it.

As far as the usage, I think a chest of drawers offers great storage in any room. A classic piece like this would work great in any room. I have a similar scaled piece in my guest bedroom that houses guest towels, sheets and amenities, and it also doubles as a TV stand. I can see it used in a bathroom, an entry, bedrooms and even a living space.
