We love to see our team members out volunteering in our community–and yesterday we captured a few of them in action!
As part of Reid Park Elementary School’s annual African-American Read-In Week, team members Bill Hall, Verona Hendrix, Jance Hughes, Robert Johnson III, Natasha McRae, Charles Reid, Nicholas Riggins and Wanda Weeks shared stories celebrating Black History Month with students in first, second and third grades.
“My involvement in this reading day at Reid Park was due to my remembrance of others that were involved in my learning and development,” said team member Charles Reid, who shared a book about young Barack Obama with the students. “The need for involvement in the lives of our children is critical. As we serve the community, be it with children or adults, our greater community becomes stabilized and productive. We cannot do anything about the past….but we can do a lot for our future. Investing in the lives of children is so wonderful!”
