Launch a career in technology with Amazon Web Services (AWS) re/Start. Goodwill and AWS re/Start are collaborating to offer a tuition-free, full-time skills development program for unemployed or underemployed individuals looking to jump start their career in cloud computing. Through scenario-based learning, hands-on labs and coursework, participants will gain the skills they need for an entry-level cloud role. In the program, participants will also focus on professional skills such as adaptive communication, time management, resume building and interviewing to prepare for employer meeting and interviews. Participants will learn cloud computing skills and prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification with free access to practice and full exams.

The AWS re/Start program lasts 13 weeks. Class meets in person at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus Monday – Thursday from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. On Fridays, participants can meet virtually or in person from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Participants must attend all classes (Monday – Friday) as scheduled.
Participants will prepare for the AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner certification. Testing will take place during the final week of class.
In order to apply to the AWS re/Start training program, you must complete an assessment and go through an Interview & Selection process. You must have a high school diploma, GED or its equivalent. Participants should be job-seeking candidates who have a basic understanding of how computers work; this includes navigating email and how to use basic document and spreadsheet software, such as Word and Excel. Those who enjoy problem solving that requires analytical reasoning and critical thinking skills are also preferred.

As a participant in one of Goodwill’s intensive training programs, you will be paired with a Career Navigator who will provide comprehensive and accelerated services to prepare you to advance and leverage career readiness and essential skills. They will provide ongoing career coaching activities such as resume development, elevator pitch, mock interviews and more. As you near completion of your training course, you will be connected with a member of the Employer Engagement Team for employment assistance. The Employer Engagement team partners with employers to facilitate employer led trainings, site tours, hiring events, and direct placements into high-paying industry related employment opportunities.
