Goodwill’s free seven-week Construction Skills Training program assists individuals in quickly developing the knowledge and skills necessary to obtain a position in the construction industry. Training topics include construction math, blueprint reading, hand and power tool use, footings, foundations, floor and wall framing systems, hanging doors and more. The program is taught by National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certified instructors and is offered in partnership with Central Piedmont Community CollegeAll training is free of charge for Goodwill clients.

Pre-requisites:

  • Personal interview at Job Resource Center
  • TABE testing in the Job Resource Center at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus
  • Goodwill orientation
  • CPCC registration

Certificates Received Upon Completion:

  • NCCER: National Center for Construction Education and Research
  • OSHA 10: Occupational Safety and Health Administration
  • CFO: Certified Forklift Operator License
