On the evening of Thursday, March 9, Community Table Bistro – our restaurant and food services training program at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus – was one of the dining establishments spotlighted at Charlotte magazine’s first-ever “Best New Restaurants” Party at CenterStage@NoDa.

Our Community Table Bistro team was thrilled to be highlighted among Charlotte’s top-notch culinary scene, and to be in the company of our city’s best new restaurants this year. The event was emceed by Colleen Odegaard and Eugene Robinson, co-hosts of Charlotte Today on NBC Charlotte.
For our tasting dish, we served mini chicken pot pies – a comfort food and favorite among diners in the Bistro – to the more than 350 attendees. We heard from many guests that our dish was their first tasting, and that it remained their favorite throughout the evening!
Proceeds from the event benefited the Community Culinary School of Charlotte. A huge thank you to Charlotte magazine for recognizing the delicious food and recipes cooked every day at Community Table Bistro, as well as the hard work of our dedicated team, led by Andrew King (Director of Food Services) and Patty Greene (Bistro Manager).
If you haven’t yet visited Community Table Bistro, come by Monday-Friday for breakfast (6:30 a.m. – 11 a.m.) or lunch (11 a.m. – 3 p.m.) at the Goodwill Opportunity Campus, located at 5301 Wilkinson Blvd in west Charlotte. The Bistro serves healthy, made-from-scratch affordable options, and many ingredients – including lettuce, radishes and herbs – are grown in our on-site urban garden.
Proceeds from dining purchases at Community Table Bistro fund job training and employment services at Goodwill offered free of charge for individuals in our community facing barriers to employment – such as lack of skills, experience or education, and those with criminal backgrounds.
